01. Niche Finding

Most keyword research tools are similar. You type in a keyword phrase or niche topic and a list of relevant keywords is returned with search and results data. Some tools even show CPC (cost per click) and competition backlinks. What if you could access a keyword tool that actually shows you the most profitable keywords online and the keywords that attract the most traffic? I have found such a tool called Keyword Country and it is like asking Google to show you the most profitable keywords to use for your website. As you may already know, keyword research is the most important step in the whole niche marketing process. Finding the right keywords is like striking gold. If these keywords represent searches by buyers, then adwords advertisers are going to pay a premium for their listings.

There are many good tools available for keyword research and as you narrow a broad niche down to some longer tail keywords that have less competition, you will begin to collect a list of article subjects for your optimization and marketing campaign, but what if you had access to a massive database of the highest paying adsense keywords? Wouldn’t that give you a gigantic boost towards building a profitable niche website?

A fantastic tool called Keyword Explosion not only gives you this database, but sorts the data into 5 powerful lists. Not only that, but as a bonus, you can use SEO explosion to check the competition for these keywords and pick the ones that are not only profitable, but have a low enough competition to rank for.

Keyword explosion / SEO explosion is not a monthly membership, but a small one time cost, at least during it’s March marketing test. If you want to save time in your niche selection and keyword research then this product is the one to get. Just one niche site can easily multiply your returns on this investment.

There are many aspects to niche marketing, but finding the right niche is probably the most important step. It should be profitable and a topic you have an interest in, but where do you begin? This article will give you several methods and places to find niche ideas and how to narrow your focus. This is an overview and more detail will be presented for each method in future posts.

Almost everyone has heard of www.ebay.com. This is a great place to do niche research. Where else can you see what people are buying in real time? Not just tire kickers, but actual buyers. On the main ebay site, there is a link for http://pulse.ebay.com. Ebay Pulse is a tool that will show you the most popular items on ebay. You can then further refine your search to categories and subcategories. The idea is to find a product with a lot of bids that is, say, $100 or more.

If you already have some general niche subject ideas, such as weight loss, travel, health, etc., then a good way to find products is to go to google and type in your niche topic followed by “affilate program” . For example, you could type in - weight loss “affiliate program”. This will bring back search results with sites that have affiliate programs in your niche of interest. If you go to these sites and start looking at individual products, many times you will find ones that are popular enough to promote by name, but still with low enough competition to rank well in the search engines. In this case, the product name becomes your primary keyword.

Another method is to use a keyword tool and type in terms of desperation such as “get rid of”, “relieve”, “eliminate”, “cure”, “prevent” just to name a few. People pay to solve pressing problems. Try plugging some of these terms into the keyword tool and see what topics come up.

Amazon.com also has a page for Top Sellers and one for New Releases. These pages are a good place to find hot items that are in demand.
